Babbacombe Downs, Oddicombe, and Babbacombe Beach plus Walls Hill. This makes for a great shortish trail on a Sunday morning with your dogs, especially from October onwards, as all the beaches on this route are dog friendly. Only Oddicombe bans dogs between 1st May and Sept 31st. Babbacombe not. There is a cafe on Oddicombe beach and cars can drive down there, and in the summer there is the funicular railway! Yes, it's steep!
Oddicombe Beach From Babbacombe end
The route has a dramatic elevation change so take your time if you're one of the fitter members of society, then it's ideal for you. If your dog likes swimming, there is plenty of opportunity.
ROUTE:
Park at Walls Hill Car Park and head down the slope bearing left and turn down the closed road, up past the cricket club, keep left and veer down the slopes on a sharp left turn when the trees and hedges thin out (or take a detour around Walls Hill, first) then follow the map below and the instructions! Plenty of watering holes on Babbacombe Downs when you arrive back at the top too!
The red sections are steepish gradients!
