Travelling with that furry family friend is becoming more important!

More than half of pet owners plan to travel with their pets, and approximately 2 million domestic animals board commercial flights each year. Travelling with pets is an important aspect of the travel industry that should not be taken lightly or ignored. Over a third of pet owners say they simply won't travel without their animals, so making travelling with pets as easy as possible would be beneficial to both travellers and businesses.

Many pet owners sacrifice the length and frequency of their vacations as a result of having pets, and they hold pet-friendly accommodations and destinations in high regard. Owners may take longer and more frequent trips and pet holidays if there are more choices and ease of taking their furry friends with them.

Our research shows that the "pet-friendly" tick box is not always a true reflection of the accommodation!

Our own surveys show that many owners are aware that being "Pet Friendly" will add more bookings (up to 30%), but really would prefer to not have guests with pets and this means that the owner or manager does not work to make an owner's dog's stay too welcome. It also means that those who do will win the battle for bookings!

We are focussed on helping both the supply chain through education and guests through the selection of the best properties that suit both owners and their dogs.

In addition, the large listing sites (think starts with A and ends with a b) really have no contact with the owners, work with them, or highlight the benefits of the local experiences and information. It would be impossible with so many millions of properties to sell. We are working hard to offer all that information AND connect you directly with the owner, just like the good old days!

~Apparently, 53% of travellers bring their pets on vacation, so pet-friendly accommodations are on the rise.

~52% of owners surveyed said they only stay at pet-friendly properties.

~6% of pets in the US board planes each year.

~Over 27% of people said they would like to see more dog-friendly hotels and holiday parks. A further 16% said they would like to see this in pubs.

~14% would like to see more dog-friendly restaurants, while 15% would like to see more dog-friendly beaches.

~Two-thirds of pet owners plan to take their pets on at least one trip within the next year, according to a recent poll. The majority of pet owners plan three to five getaways, while 31% plan to travel with their pets at least six times a year

~More than half of the owners plan to travel with their pets this year.

~Three-quarters of owners prefer staying at home with their dogs instead of travelling.

~The number of pet owners and their four-legged friends that drive and fly together is at an all-time high.

~About 37% of families take their pets on vacation. This is a 19% increase over the last decade.
